Tuesday, January 18

Happy Tuesday! It feels like a Monday, but really, it's already Tuesday! And even better? Tomorrow is PACKET DAY. It's your LAST PACKET DAY as an afternoon class, so enjoy it!

Here are your assignments as you come in -

1) Vocabulary -

In your blogs, complete the following assignment -
Blog Title - Week 1 Vocabulary Definitions and Example Sentences
Assignment -
Your vocabulary words for the week are: Tradition (noun), Period (noun), and Primary (noun and adjective).
You need to write the definition for each word. For primary, you need to find TWO definitions - one for noun and one for adjective.
You also need to copy the following example sentences:
Tradition (noun) - By tradition, girls ask boys to the Tolo dance.
Period (noun) - Be sure to use a period at the end of each complete sentence.
Primary (noun) - Schwartzenegger won the Republican seat in the primary election in California.
Primary (adjective) - The primary reason for having our packet day tomorrow is that Ms. S has a meeting. The secondary reason is that she is awesome.

2) PLATO - English/Language Arts
Go to: Written and Oral Conventions
Assignment: Choosing the Best Linking Word to Join Clauses
Print the mastery test (with your name printed on it) and turn in. If your name does not print, you need to show Ms. S or Julianna your assignment on the computer and have us sign the printout.

3) Blog Post -
Blog Title - Information I wish I had before I started

Do you remember when you first started class that you had to have an intake? In your blogs, I want you to write down at least TWO (2) things that you think would have been helpful for me to tell you at our intake that you didn't realize until you already started class. It could be about class rules, lunches, the amount of work in class, technology, discipline, etc - anything that you think would have helped as you started out in our class.

4) Social Studies - Lunch Bags

Talk to Ms. S for the paperwork. Before you go home today, the checklist worksheet is due.
