It's Thursday already! How's the fastest week ever going for you?

A few notes:
  • If you did not submit your packet for yesterday's attendance on Tuesday, be sure to turn it in today to earn your attendance!
  • Do you want to play flag football? Mr. Warren's TA, Mike, is coaching. Talk to Ms. S for details. P.S. - If you attend each week, you'll earn PE credit!
  • If you want your graded assignments from last quarter, pick them up. Otherwise, they will be recycled at the end of the quarter.
  • Our move to the new school has been delayed another week. YOU HAVE SCHOOL NEXT WEEK!
Here are your assignments as you come in - READ CAREFULLY - IT'S DIFFERENT FROM YOUR ROUTINE.

1) Vocabulary - Synonyms, Images, and Sentences
In your blogs, complete the following assignment -
Blog Title - Week 1 Synonyms, Images, and Sentences
Assignment -
** Copy the synonyms for each of your vocabulary words of the week:
Tradition - Custom, ritual, practice, habit, belief, folklore
Period - era, age, time, stage, phase, dot, point, punctuation mark
Primary (adj) - main, chief, key, principal
Primary (noun) - election
** You also need to find an IMAGE for each of your vocabulary words. For the word PRIMARY, you need to find an IMAGE FOR EACH SEPARATE DEFINITION.
**For each image (you should have a total of 4), you will also need to WRITE A SENTENCE THAT DESCRIBES HOW YOUR IMAGE MATCHES THE DEFINITION OF YOUR WORD.

2) PLATO - English/Language Arts
Go to: Written and Oral Conventions
Assignment: Separating Ideas into Paragraphs (Tutorial only)
Print the tutorial completion page. Requires Ms. S or Julianna's signature.

3) Frankenstein - Chapter 1, Reading Questions
For Frankenstein, we will be covering two chapters today. However, we are going to do this a bit differently than we have in the past. INDEPENDENTLY, each of you need to read Chapter 1 and answer the reading questions that I will provide you. It's a total of 4 pages and 4 questions. Then, as a whole class, we will discuss Chapter 1 and then read and answer reading questions for Chapter 2. YOU MUST COMPLETE CHAPTER 1 IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE CLASS FOR CHAPTER 2.
