Tuesday, January 11

It's 1/11/11! Happy Tuesday, my favorite students. A few reminders/notes as you come in...

- Make sure you have signed up for your Edmodo classes. PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR EITHER WORLD OR US HISTORY - it is highly unlikely you are enrolled in both.
- I also added an Algebra class since I think we'll give math grades on Edmodo a shot - the code is u3pny6. Please join.
- You also need to join the Math Lab class -

- The end of the quarter is Friday, January 14 - expect report cards soon!
- Our TENTATIVE move date is Monday, January 24. Please bear in mind this is NOT SET IN STONE AND MAY CHANGE.

Your assignments as you come in are the following. You have until 2PM when we begin math.

1) Vocabulary - In your blog, complete the following assignment:
Blog Title - Week 10 Vocab Images, Sentences, and Synonyms
Assignment -
For each of your vocab words (academic, document, and maximum), you need to
- Post an image that represents your vocab word
- Write a sentence that explains WHY your image represents your word
- Copy the following synonyms for each word:
Academic - educational, school, scholastic, studious, intellectual, scholarly
Document (noun) - certificate, papers, id card, text, file, manuscript, essay, deed, record
Document (verb) - Write down, video tape, record, photograph, file
Maximum ( noun & adj) - utmost, highest, greatest, limit, most

2) PLATO - English/Language Arts
Go to: Written and Oral Conventions
Assignment: Avoiding Run-Ons with Commas
Print the mastery test (with your name printed on it) and turn in. If your name does not print, you need to show Ms. S or Julianna your assignment on the computer and have us sign the printout.

3) Social Studies -

If you are working on World History, complete the following assignment:
World History books - Chapter 14, Section 2
Section Assessment: Answer questions #1-5, skip #3

If you are working on US History, complete the following assignment:
American Vision books - Chapter 14, Section 2
Section Assessment - Answer questions #1-5, for #2, choose any 2
