Oh, Monday.....

As you come into class, here are your following assignments:

1) Vocabulary - Copy the definitions in the definitions box. Copy the sample sentences in the examples box.

• Consume (verb) -- To completely use time, energy, goods, etc.

- To have a very strong feeling that changes the way you behave and what you think about
- To eat or drink something
Example - Buying CD's consumes half of my weekly allowance.

• Category (noun)- A group of people or things that all have the same particular qualities

Example- My favorite category of music is Oldies, like The Beatles and Tom Petty.

• Role (noun)

- The way in which someone or something is involved in an activity or situation, and how much influence they have on it
- The character played by an actor in a play or movie
Example- Students must take an active role in their education if they want to be successful.

2) Social Studies
