Monday, May 2

Good morning! Welcome to the month of May!. And welcome to your week of CST testing. Please remember - CST testing is mandatory. That means your attendance this whole week is MANDATORY. You must be here, and you must be on time! However, as long as the entire class is on time and present every day this week, on Friday we will have a BBQ.

A few important reminders:
- YOUR ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY ALL WEEK!!!
- Early release every day at 12noon.
- Friday = fun day!

IF YOU ARE TESTING:
- If you are testing, our testing block is from 8:30-10:30. This period must be SILENT. NO TALKING.
- If you finish your test early, your main task is this - to redo all your rough drafts of the resume, cover letter, thank you letter, letter of recommendation, one year goals, and five year goals. You will also continue your career research and work on your essay.

IF YOU ARE NOT TESTING:
- We are testing from 8:30-10:30. This period must be SILENT. YOU MAY NOT TALK, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT TESTING.


WE WILL BEGIN TESTING AT 8:30AM. Until then, this your assignment:

1) Vocabulary. COMPLETE BEFORE 8:30.
Your week 6 vocabulary words: Legal, policy, and legislate.
In your blogs, complete the following assignment:
BLOG TITLE: Week 6 Vocabulary Definitions and Examples
ASSIGNMENT:
** Find the definitions for each of your vocabulary words.
** Copy the following example sentences:
Legal - It is not legal for people to drive until they are at least 16 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Policy - School policy requires that students come to school every day!
Legislate - It is the duty of the California State Legislature to legislate new laws that protect the rights of its citizens.

THE FOLLOWING ASSIGNMENTS SHOULD BE COMPLETED AT THE COMPLETION OF YOUR TESTING. These assignments will be due at the end of the week (Thursday).

1) Career Exploration Class
ALL FINAL DRAFTS need to be printed and turned in on Edmodo. Please don't turn in until all assignments are complete. Ask Ms. S or Julianna for a folder to turn in ALL assignments.
- Resume (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- Cover Letter (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- Thank You Letter (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- Letter of Recommendation (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- One Year Goals (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- Five Year Goals(Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)
- Janet Thomas Memorial Scholarship Essay (Final Draft - need to revise the copy Ms. S returned to you.)

- Also, need to continue work on career research and essay. (ROUGH DRAFT OF ESSAY DUE)
