To make this a bit easier, your vocab blogs are posted in just one post. Complete them as you see fit - you will have your vocabulary quiz on Friday.

Your vocabulary words are: regulate, institute, and circumstance.
ASSIGNMENT -

Regulate (noun)- I think that when the school regulates who can play sports they should do it based on grades.
Institute (noun, verb) - When I am governor of California, I will institute programs for education.
Circumstance (noun)- Under no circumstances should you leave school without permission!

Good morning, good morning, good morning my favorite students! I hope that I only hear good things about your behavior the past two days! If I hear only good things, you will have early release today! :)

A few important notes:
- We will be scheduling your families to come watch you on Friday! This will determine the order in which you present. Remember, you attendance is mandatory for the ENTIRE DAY. You will not be released until the FINAL PRESENTATION. This is scheduled until 3:00PM.
- NO LATE/MISSING WORK, with the exception of PLATO assignments, WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS POINT. The end of the quarter is June 3.

As you come in, here are your assignments. COMPLETE IN THIS ORDER.

1) Is your CAREER POWERPOINT AND ANIMOTO VIDEO COMPLETE? If not, WORK ON THIS AND ONLY THIS. YOUR OTHER ASSIGNMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE COMPLETED LATER. THIS IS YOUR PRIORITY.

2) Notecards
You may write down notecards if you think you will need reminders about what to say on Friday. Remember, you shouldn't be reading from your PowerPoint so you are always looking at your audience - write notecards!

Good morning my favorite students! Guess what? I am at this amazing training today and tomorrow so Ms. Sanchez will be your sub! Behave, behave, behave for her! Ms. Sanchez has me on speed dial so she will definitely have no delay in calling me if need be.

A few important reminders:
- Any electives that you complete at home are DUE TODAY! But..since I won't be there today, I will let you bring it on Tuesday. After Tuesday, so sorry about that. Turn these into Julianna.
- If I get a good note about you from Ms. Sanchez, I will let you have early release on Wednesday. Good deal, eh?
- Remind your families about career presentations on Friday! Julianna will be calling home to set up your time.
- Career Packets and PowerPoints are DUE! If you are not due with either of these, talk to Julianna and Ms. Sanchez to see if they think you deserve to go in the computer lab and get them done. NO LAPTOPS UNLESS STEPHANIE IS HERE.

- If you are planning on returning to the district for the beginning of the new school year in July, YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH THE DISTRICT NOW. Remember, going to back to regular school has nothing to do with me - it is not a decision I make. You need to take your parent/guardian and see if the district will accept you back.
- If you are working on independent electives at home, I need ALL YOUR WORK TURNED IN BY MONDAY, MAY 16. I will not accept work past this time and this means it will not show up on your upcoming report card. If you are keeping a blog for independent reading, I need your blog URL and the books you read.
- Thursday & Friday, you will be released at 1:00PM since I have meetings!

Good morning! Welcome to WEEK 7 of FOURTH QUARTER! Guess what that means? If you are working on an independent subject, you only have until next week to turn it in! Yikes! That means you have until NEXT MONDAY, MAY 16 to complete any work that you are completing at home independently. If you are planning on returning to the district in July, this is imperative. If you are planning on returning to the district in July, you also NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DISTRICT ASAP. If you do not make this appointment, you will not be eligible to return at the beginning of the school year.

As you come in...be happy that you are done testing!! :)

And here are your morning assignments (isn't it nice to be back to a regular schedule?)

1. Vocabulary.
Your week 7 vocabulary words are: similar, theory, and section.
In your blogs, you need to complete the following post:
BLOG TITLE: Week 7 Vocabulary Definitions & Examples
BLOG ASSIGNMENT:
*** For each word, you need to find the DEFINITION FOR THE VOCABULARY WORD.
*** You also need to copy the following example sentences for each word:
Similar (adj) - Ms. S can always tell when two assignments are too similar...it makes her very sad when her students copy off each other's work, rather than trying to complete it on their own and learn something!
Theory (noun) - Darwin had a revolutionary theory about evolution - we now refer to it as the survival of the fittest.
Section (noun, verb) - The hairstylist had to section off pieces of hair in order to only highlight the top layer.

2. PLATO - English/Language Arts
Assignment: Choosing the Best Linking Word to Join Clauses

3. REDO WORK
You need to check your Edmodo grades! Get a piece of paper, write down TWO MISSING or REDO ASSIGNMENTS that you need to complete. Show Ms. S or Julianna the fact that these assignments need to be redone/madeup, and have us SIGN THE PAPER.
Then, DO YOUR MISSING WORK! Two missing/redo assignments are due TODAY.

It's Friday! I hope everyone is ready to BBQ because I have like ten pounds of carne asada! But before we go, there are a few things we need to finish in class....

- We are testing from 8:30-10:30. This period must be SILENT. YOU MAY NOT TALK, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT TESTING.


BEFORE TESTING:

BLOG TITLE: Week 6 Vocabulary PARAGRAPH
ASSIGNMENT: You need to write a PARAGRAPH that uses all three vocabulary words in a cohesive (makes sense) manner. Remember, a paragraph is FIVE SENTENCES.

Today we are having someone from the Sheriff's Department present. Please write down five questions that you would like to ask. These can be hand-written.
